High Ventures T&Cs

Booking and Payment

  1. Please get in touch. Please contact us via email or a telephone call and we can discuss what you wish to do and when.   
  2. Booking Form. Once we agree an activity and date we will send/e-mail a booking form, please complete and return the Booking Form with your deposit or full payment.   
  3. Short Notice? No Problem! If your plans are over the next couple of days, please ring as there is a good chance that we can accommodate you.
  4. Deposit. A £30 deposit is required to guarantee your venture. Please return the booking form to us along with your deposit.     
  5. Balance. The balance is to be paid a minimum of 14 days before your venture, if the balance is not received then High Ventures are under no obligation to hold your booking.   
  6. Short Notice. Bookings made within 14 days of the activity are to be paid in full.   
  7. Methods of Payment. Deposit and balance payments can be made by BACS or personal cheque, details are on the booking form.   

Cancellation Policy

We appreciate that plans change and life can throw the best laid plans astray. Should you need to alter or cancel your booking then please get in touch, we haven’t yet experienced an issue that couldn’t be resolved. However, for clarity please note the following terms.    

  1. Client Cancellation. Due to intermittent phone signal all cancellations must be made in writing or electronic message. Receipt of your cancellation must be confirmed by High Ventures.   
  2. If you cancel with more than 28 days notice. All monies will be refunded less a £15 administration charge.   
  3. If you cancel with 28 to 15 days notice. You will forfeit your deposit but any remaining balance will be refunded.   
  4. If you cancel within 14 days notice. No refund will be made.   
  5. High Ventures Cancellation. In the unlikely event that High Ventures need to cancel your booking for any reason other than adverse weather you will be given a choice of a full refund or an alternative date. Under no circumstances can High Ventures be held liable for additional costs such as client accommodation or transport – you are strongly advised to take out appropriate insurance.   
  6.  Adverse Weather. Cancellation due to poor weather conditions (high Amber/Red) is at the discretion of High Ventures. If the initial booking objective is not possible due to the weather, an alternative date will be offered. 
  7. Client Conduct. High Ventures reserves the right to cancel/exclude clients from a venture should the client not adhere to the decisions or instructions made by the leader; such actions could jeopardise their own and others safety. Any client who is cancelled/excluded from a venture will forfeit all professional protection and Duty of Care from the Mountain Leader. No refund will be given.   
  8. Preparedness. High Ventures reserves the right to cancel or modify arrangements for reasons of adverse weather or group preparedness in terms of clothing, equipment, ill health (including intoxication) or lack of fitness.   

  • Clothing. The appropriate clothing is key to having a good day on the mountain, you must dress appropriately. Please see our recommended kit list. Should you have any questions or need any advice then please drop us a line.   
  • Health. High Ventures must be made fully aware of any health issues of any members of the party.   
  • Fitness. We will discuss your plans at the time of booking but High Ventures reserves the right to modify the venture if we feel that the fitness of a member of your party is not to the standard required for that activity. An alternative route will be offered, should you not take this alternative then you are regarded as cancelling the activity. No refund will be given.   

Liability and Risk

  1. Insurance. High Ventures activities do not include insurance for personal accident, cancellation, third party liability or personal injury. 
Appropriate insurance cover is recommended to all clients. 

  2. Liability. High Ventures is not under any liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal 
property, not caused by the negligence or default of High Ventures and its staff. 
 
  3. Acceptance of Risk. All of our guides are fully qualified and insured for their professional activities. However, every client must understand that adventurous activities, particularly those relating to mountain activities have an element of risk that, although every effort will be made to assure your safety, cannot be totally eliminated. By booking with us, you are confirming your awareness and acceptance of this risk and confirming that you are responsible for your own actions and involvement.  

Other Stuff......

  1. What is not included. The costs of accommodation, food, insurance, kit and equipment hire are not included in the prices quoted. We will be delighted to assist in making or advising in such arrangements, please let us know at the time of booking. 
   
  2. Medical Disclosure. High Ventures must be made aware of any medical conditions or injury at the time of booking. Should the condition or injury occur after your Booking Form is submitted then High Ventures must be informed at the earliest opportunity.  
  3. Age. The minimum age to participate is 18 years at the time of activity.  Younger clients can participate if supervised for the duration of the activity by a parent/guardian, please discuss at the time of booking.    
  4. Photographs. Photos taken during your venture by the leader may be used for High Venture blogs/websites and advertisements. Should you not consent to the use of images then please inform High Ventures in writing.  

And Finally....

The judgment of our guides is final – whilst we aim to fulfill your venture any decisions made will be in the best interests of your safety and enjoyment. The mountains have been there for millennia, we can always comeback some other day.
